Ellis 50th anniversary
David and Janet Ellis of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage at a dinner hosted by their family at Rachel’s Roadhouse in Butler.
Ellis married the former Janet DeCorte on Dec. 28, 1963, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
They have two children, Dr. Brian D. Ellis (Linda Yost) of Morgantown, W.Va., and Michael A. Ellis (Patti Spoltori) of Imperial, Pa.
They also have two grandchildren.
Ellis retired in 1999 after 35 years at Slippery Rock High School as a teacher and guidance counselor.
He is an Army veteran and a member of the Moraine Sportsmen, Chisel and Chips Carving Club, PSEA-R and PASR. He enjoys wood carving, camping, traveling, hunting and fishing.
Mrs. Ellis retired in 2003 from Slippery Rock Middle School after 32 years of teaching.
She is the secretary for Butler County PSEA-R and for Allegheny Rockets Oldsmobile Club. She is a member of PASR and Chisels and Chips Carving Club. She enjoys wood carving, camping and traveling.
The Ellises are members of St. Paul church.
