Rozic fire chief association president
Adam Rozic of Butler Township Volunteer Fire District was recently installed as president of the Butler County Fire Chief's Association.
The officer installation was conducted at the group's monthly meeting Thursday at the Public Safety Training Facility at Butler County Community College.
Butler County Commissioner Kim Geyer served as installing officer.
Nathan Wulfe, outgoing president, introduced the new officers including Paul Patton, vice president; Dennis Kimmel, treasurer; Greg Haughey, secretary; and Derek Thompson and Jeff Stoner, three-year terms as directors.
“You volunteer 24 hours every day and provide a valuable and needed service to our communities in Butler County,” Geyer said.
Rob McClafferty of the 911 Center reported that the new CAD system is now up and working with few problems.
The association plans to form a committee to review and report to the membership on Senate Resolution 6 on the crisis facing the volunteer fire service and emergency medical system. These volunteer organizations provide the majority of fire and EMS responses in Pennsylvania but are lacking in the number of volunteers available and funding. Much of the volunteers' time is spent fundraising, the association said in a news release.
