Elsie I. Taylor, 71, of Fellowship Manor in Grove City where she has lived for the past six years died at 10:15 p.m. Thursday at the Grove City Medical Center. She formerly lived in Harrisville.

Born April 17, 1938, in Franklin, Venango County, she was a daughter of Clarence and Clara Moore Orr.

Mrs. Taylor worked for the dining services at Grove City College for 15 years. Before that, she was a housekeeper for Harold and Betty Jamison.

She was a member of the Harmony Presbyterian Church in Harrisville, where she was active in the nursery and served as a Bible school helper. She loved taking care of children until her illness.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by a daughter, Loretta M. Jones and her husband, Carl, of Slippery Rock; two sons, Richard A. "Rick" Taylor and his wife, Stacey, of Harrisville, and Terry L. Taylor and his wife, Missy, of Portersville; five grandchildren, Troy, Amber, Matthew, Adam and Micah; four great-grandchildren, Laurel, Cameron, Kendall and Mia; two sisters, Patricia Shuster and her husband, Rick, of Mercer, and Roxann Barkley and her husband, John, of Bruin; a brother, Floyd Orr and his wife, Barb, of Clintonville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Taylor, who she married Feb. 28, 1964, and who died Feb. 18, 1985; her parents; and a grandson, Eric Jones.

<B>TAYLOR </B>— Friends of Elsie I. Taylor, who died Thursday, July 2, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, at the <B>JAMISON FUNERAL HOME, </B>117 N. Main St., Harrisville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kirk Erwin, pastor of the Harmony Presbyterian Church, officiating.
