Mathas, Erkman

Patrick and Tammy Erkman

Tammy Mathas of Ellwood City and Patrick Erkman of Butler were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Oct. 7 at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. The Rev. Harry Bielewicz officiated. A reception followed at the American Legion in Lyndora.

The bride is the daughter of Gretchen Mathas of Ellwood City and the late Robert Mathas. Parents of the bridegroom are Joseph Erkman and Patrice Erkman Crowe, both of Butler.

The bride was presented for marriage by her mother.

The honor attendant was Erica Vandevort of Ellwood City. Bridesmaids included Dr. Tiffany Mathas and Lindsey Wagner, both of Pittsburgh; Kathy Cooper of Hartsville, S.C.; Julie Garda of New Castle; Cierra Vandevort and Danielle Norton, both of Ellwood City; Jewel Ann Erkman of Butler; Veronica Van Buren of Monaca and Lexie Armstrong of East Brady. The flower girl was Elizabeth Erkman of East Brady.

Performing the duties of best man was Daniel Erkman of Palm Springs, Calif. Ushers included Derek Vandevort and Michael Cavalier, both of Ellwood City; Chris Erkman, Eric Miller and Doug Slupe, all of Butler; Drew Martin of Pittsburgh; and Bob Weir of Cranberry Township.

The bride is a 1982 graduate of Lincoln High School and a 1987 graduate of Penn State University. She works as an applications analyst for General Nutrition Center in Pittsburgh.

The bridegroom graduated in 1982 from Butler High School and in 1986 from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He works as an art program specialist for Lifesteps in Butler Township and for Community Care Connections.

For their honeymoon trip, the couple took a mystery adventure tour of Pennsylvania.

The Erkmans are now making their home in Ellwood City.
