Yellowjackets pitch, hit their way to victory

Moniteau's Travis Shaffer slides into first base to beat the tag of Chad Bell of Karns City Tuesday in the Gremlins' 7-4 victory.

Freeport softball pitcher Stephanie Leslie tossed a one-hitter, striking out seven, as the Yellowjackets (3-3, 2-2 mashed Apollo-Ridge 10-0 Tuesday.

n Grove City lost its fourth one-run game of the season, this time falling to Franklin 3-2.

The Eagles (1-4, 0-2) got a triple from Kari Barnes and a double from Kait Moretti in the loss.

• Martina Burk struck out 12 and also drove in a run as Moniteau downed Karns City 7-2.

Amber Neff had a big game at the plate for the Warriors with a triple, single and two RBI.
