BC3 may expand to 2 more counties

Butler County Community College is working on agreements to offer programs in two more counties.

BC3 would teach freshmen courses for associate degrees at the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville, in Crawford County, or bachelor’s degrees at Pitt-Bradford in McKean County.

Nick Neupauer, BC3 president, said he is traveling to Pitt-Titusville next week to continue working out program details.

“Students could take general education classes at the University of Pittsburgh Titusville, campus saving money with our classes then pursue an associate (degree) at Titusville or a bachelor’s (degree) at University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. We’re still working out the details,” Neupauer said. “We’re proud to be a campus college, but it’s important to be one of the 14 community colleges. We’re glad to serve the underserved, but we’re also glad to serve the rest.”

Expanding into Crawford and McKean counties would add to BC3’s regional presence.

BC3 has campuses in Armstrong, Mercer, Lawrence and Jefferson counties in addition to the main campus in Butler Township and a campus in Cranberry Township in Butler County.
