Knoch football’s turnaround continued Friday night with a 34-20 win at Ambridge.

Running back Ethan Rouleau ran the ball 28 times for 169 yards and two touchdowns, and quarterback Max Wiley was a perfect 8 for 8 for 114 yards and two scores. Carter Beres blocked a punt, forced a fumble and had 3.5 tackles, and Cameron Lazor had two sacks to lead the defense.

The Knights improved to 3-0 and will host Highlands next week.

Karns City 42, Punxsutawney 24 - The Chucks gave the Gremlins a fight early, but Cole Johnston continued his impressive season to lead KC to a 3-0 start. Tyson Frazer and Bryce Galan each scored two rushing touchdowns while the game was still tight. Johnston’s first rushing touchdown, a 47-yarder in the second quarter, gave KC its first lead 21-14. But Punxsy didn’t go down easy. It wasn’t until Johnston broke off another run inside the 30 and cut back and forth across the field to score his second touchdown that the Gremlins took total control in the fourth quarter. No individual stats were available.

Seneca Valley 42, Penn Hills — The Raiders didn’t miss a beat after last week’s canceled game, rolling up on Penn Hills in all three phases. Jake Donesec returned a punt 54 yards to the house and had a strip sack that led directly to more Raiders (2-0) points, and Rory O’Shea had a 1-yard TD run, a 38-yard TD reception and took a double reverse 9 yards to pay dirt. He finished with 38 receiving yards and 9 rushing. Matt D’Appolonia gave the defense its own score, recovering a fumble and diving into the end zone from 2 yards out.

Lakeview 28, Moniteau 20 — Despite two touchdown passes from QB Weston Cook, Moniteau could not hang on for its first win of the season. Cook finished 8 of 18 for 147 yards and rushed for 41 yards on six carries. Cole Scott, who caught a 9-yard TD pass, also had a fumble recovery he ran into the end zone. Liam Allison caught three passes for 78 yards and a score and had 18 carries for 58 yards, both leading the team.

Redbank Valley 26, Union/A-C Valley 2 — Things started out well for the Falcon Knights (1-2) when Parker Bish blocked a punt into the back of the end zone for a safety just 1:46 into the game. But the Bulldogs buckled down and scored 26 straight to send U/ACV home smarting. Bish finished with five tackles on defense and 34 receiving yards on two catches, while Micah Kindel led the run game with 18 carries for 52 yards. QB Andrew Kifer was 11 of 29 for 121 yards and an interception.

New Castle 43, North Catholic 7 — No stats from this one as the Hurricanes pick up their first win while handing the Trojans a second straight loss to fall to 0-3.

Sto-Rox 74, Summit Academy — Quarterback Kamarii Coleman led Summit with five carries for 15 yards, but the offense fumbled the ball four times and threw three interceptions in this one. The Knights (0-3) gave up 70-plus points for the second time this season.
