7-year-old girl struck by boat in accident near East Brady

A 7-year-old girl was struck by a boat in the Allegheny River off the shore of East Brady on Sunday, Aug. 9.

The accident was first reported shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday, and occurred in the section of the river across from Waters Edge Drive in East Brady, according to dispatch recordings from Clarion County Public Safety.

The girl was reportedly injured in the incident, dispatch recordings show. Her current condition is unknown.

The dispatch recordings indicate that officials from the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission were notified of the accident within a half-hour of the incident being reported, and the East Brady Volunteer Fire Department has confirmed that the PFBC are currently investigating the accident.

A spokesperson for the PFBC declined to comment on the incident.
