Mars man accused of stalking, violating restraining order

Darnyll L. Bishop, 29, of Cranberry Township, has been charged with stalking in relation to a July 13 incident in which he is accused of violating a protection from abuse order.

According to a police affidavit, the incident occurred when Bishop spotted the victim at a Dollar Tree at the Adams Shoppes shopping center. He proceeded to follow her vehicle to a GetGo station in Seven Fields, where he “began walking toward the victim and her friend.”

According to the affidavit, Mark Lint, chief of Mars Borough Police, happened to be at that GetGo with his vehicle while this was happening and the victim’s friend alerted him to the situation, forcing Bishop to drive off.

Mars police got in touch with Bishop later that night and, according to police, he admitted that he was aware of a PFA order being in place.

A $25,000 bail for Bishop was posted on Wednesday by a professional bondsman. A formal arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m.
