The two women, who died in a Forward Township house fire on Memorial Day, lost their lives accidentally due to thermal and inhalation injuries, the Butler County Coroner’s Office said this week.

The office offered the new information on the two women — sisters Christine Lamperski and Sue Ann Norris — from the 396 Old Route 68 fire on Wednesday, June 24.

A GoFundMe had launched in May to support the family. As of Wednesday, the GoFundMe has raised over $18,000.

“With the permission of the family, we would like to try to take some of the burden off … by using this GoFundMe to contribute to laying Chrissy and Susie to rest,” community member April Vitovsky, who started the fundraiser, said in its description.

The fire also killed Roo, the family dog, according to the fundraiser’s description.
