Butler’s quest for a PIAA baseball tournament championship continues Monday against Owen J. Roberts in the Class 6A semifinals.

Northern Bedford was a late substitution into the PIAA Class 1A baseball championships. According to the Altoona Mirror, Northern Bedford was informed late Sunday night it will be the District 5 representative in states after a player on Southern Fulton’s roster was ruled ineligible after a weekend D5 meeting.

Southern Fulton beat the Panthers 4-1 in the D5 championship game.

Northern Bedford fell to District 6 runner-up Homer Center 11-1 in Monday’s opener.
