Slippery Rock woman accused of stealing vehicle, money
A Slippery Rock woman is charged with theft after reportedly stealing a vehicle, leading police on a short chase and stealing more than $300 “so she could play casino games,” according to state police.
Rylee Dawn Snyder, 28, was charged Tuesday, May 26, with one felony count each of theft and fleeing police and a misdemeanor count of theft following an incident Friday, May 22, in Cherry Township.
Police said they were dispatched to a Hungarian Road residence for reports of a woman stealing a vehicle and money.
Police interviewed a man who said he had video of Snyder taking the vehicle, which he had been repairing. The man also alleged Snyder had sent herself four Venmo payments from his account totaling $330, police said.
Police said Snyder eventually returned the vehicle and took her own. While police were interviewing the man, they saw Snyder operating her vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.
Police said there was a brief pursuit before Snyder stopped. Snyder told police the man gave her permission to take the vehicle and he sent her the money so she could play casino games.
Snyder’s preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
