SRU theatre programs earn prestigious NAST accreditation
Slippery Rock University’s theater programs have received accreditation by the prestigious National Association of Schools of Theatre, “elevating student success and regional arts scene,” the university said.
“This milestone underscores SRU’s ongoing commitment to delivering an exceptional, affordable arts education that drives student growth, launches dynamic careers and deeply engages the surrounding community,” the university said in an SRU news article.
NAST accreditation has been earned by four distinct programs: the BFA in acting, the BFA in musical theatre, the BA in theatre arts management and BA in theatre studies.
SRU has continually assessed and refined its curriculum to ensure student artists “reach their full potential.” This has included expanded private vocal lessons and tailored song repertoire classes that help students build highly personalized audition portfolios.
