Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian would be ‘cordial’ if they ran into each other

A decade after Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian’s very public feud, the pop superstar has reportedly “moved on” and would be “cordial” during a run-in with the reality star, who fans speculate she dedicated an entire diss track to just two years ago.

An insider told Us Weekly that the Grammy winner, 36, and 45-year-old SKIMS co-founder “don’t have a relationship” and “have both moved on” from the summer 2016 drama.

“It’s not this active, lingering drama anymore, but they’re not in touch or anything like that. If they saw each other in passing, they would be cordial,” said the source.

It’s an interesting way to frame Swift’s mindset, given that it was just over two years back in April 2024 when she released the song, “thanK you aIMee,” from her album, “The Tortured Poets Department” album. In the song, Swift sings about being unable to “forgive the way you made me feel / Screamed, ‘(Expletive) you, Aimee’ to the night sky,” but ultimately credits her own “legacy” to the song’s muse.

The track is full of apparent Easter eggs nodding to Kardashian — whose first name is spelled out with the capitalized letters of the title — and the eldest two kids she shares with ex-husband Ye (formerly Kanye West).

Swift and Ye, 48, had been at odds since he interrupted her acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

They eventually made amends, only for Ye’s “Famous” to put them back at square one in June 2016. In the track — the controversial music video for which includes naked sculptures of Swift and other famous faces — he raps, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that (expletive) famous.”

The following month, Kardashian posted snake emojis along with excerpts from a call between the musicians, in which Swift approved the lyric, though she would maintain she never knew she’d be called a “(expletive).” The source told Us that it all “spiraled way more than she expected,” though Kardashian “doesn’t necessarily regret inserting herself.”

Swift’s accounting of the ordeal was confirmed with the 2020 leaking of the full call, which went on for about a half-hour. By that point though, she’d effectively become a recluse in the run-up to her hit 2017 album, “Reputation,” with which she reclaimed both the scandal — and snakes.

Pop star Shakira is acquitted in a Spanish tax fraud case

MADRID — A Spanish court acquitted Shakira in a tax fraud case, ordering the government to return more than $64 million in wrongly imposed fines, a court document seen Monday by the Associated Press said.

The decision follows years of tax troubles in Spain for the Colombian superstar.

The ruling relates to a dispute over the 2011 tax year in which Spanish authorities failed to prove that the singer was a resident of Spain, the Madrid-based court said in its decision.

For a person to be considered a tax resident in Spain, she must spend more than 183 days in the country.

Spanish authorities were only able to prove that Shakira lived in Spain that year for a total of 163 days, the court said, ordering the Treasury to reimburse the singer the tax paid plus interest.

Spain's tax agency argued that at the time Shakira was tied to Spain through a relationship with now-retired soccer player Gerard Piqué, and that she based her main economic activities in the country.

But the High Court ruled that the relationship could not be legally equated to a marital one, nor was it proven that “the main center or base” of Shakira's activities or economic interests in 2011 were directly or indirectly located in Spain.

“There was never any fraud, and the Tax Agency itself was never able to prove otherwise, simply because it wasn’t true,” Shakira, who had filed an appeal, said in a statement provided by her lawyers.

Spain’s Treasury is to reimburse the singer almost $70 million, including interest, Shakira’s lawyer said.

“This resolution comes after an eight-year ordeal that has taken an unacceptable toll, reflecting a lack of rigor in administrative practices,” her attorney, José Luís Prada, said in a statement.

In 2023, in a separate tax fraud case, Shakira reached a deal with Spanish prosecutors to avoid a trial over charges that she did not pay Spanish income tax then worth $15.8 million between 2012 and 2014.

The singer accepted the charges and was forced to pay $8 million at the time in addition to the previously unpaid taxes and interest.

The “Hips Don't Lie” singer was named in the 2017 “Paradise Papers” leaks that detailed the offshore tax arrangements of numerous high-profile individuals, including pop icons Madonna and U2’s Bono.

Spain's tax authorities have over the past decade or so cracked down on soccer stars like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for not paying their full due in taxes. Those players were found guilty of tax evasion but avoided prison time thanks to a provision that allows a judge to waive sentences under two years in length for first-time offenders.

Reports: Eminem’s ex-wife, Kim Mathers, arrested days after OWI plea

DETROIT — Eminem’s ex-wife was arrested on Wednesday following a crash with a parked car, days after she pleaded to driving while intoxicated, according to media reports.

Kimberley Anne Mathers allegedly struck a car at about 9:20 p.m., news organization TMZ reported.

The website also said the 51-year-old was released from jail on Thursday.

Court records did not list any information about the latest arrest.

On Monday, Mathers pleaded no contest to charges stemming from a February hit-and-run crash in which she was allegedly intoxicated. She was charged with operating while impaired and failure to stop after a collision, which are punishable by no more than 93 days in jail.

The charges were the latest in a series of legal woes for Mathers.

In October 2015, she drove a Cadillac Escalade into a utility pole and then a ditch. The court case records were sealed.

Mathers called Detroit radio show “Mojo in the Morning” several months later and said she drank and got into the SUV with the intention of crashing her vehicle and ending her life. She also said the court records were sealed because the incident was a suicide attempt.

Later the same month, a judge rejected her request to throw out evidence and dismiss the case.

In November 2016, Mathers was sentenced to a $900 fine and a year of probation.

In 2004, she violated her probation on drug charges from the previous year and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and 90 days in a drug rehab program.

Mathers was arrested and charged in 2003 for possession of a controlled substance of less than 25 grams, driving with a license suspended, revoked, or denied, and failure to use due care while passing a stationary emergency vehicle.

Eminem, born Marshall Mathers, and Kim were first married in 1999 and divorced several years later, according to Detroit News reports.

They remarried in January 2006, but he filed for a second divorce in April 2006.

The pair also has a daughter together, Hailie.
