Wednesday’s unveiling of a historic trail marker commemorating Gen. Marquis de Lafayette’s contributions in the American Revolution and his 1825 visit to Butler County has been relocated indoors due to rain in the forecast.
The county commissioners announced Monday the 11 a.m. unveiling ceremony will be held in the public meeting room on the first floor of the government center because of the possibility of rain showers. Original plans called for the event to be held outside the courthouse.
The event is free and open to the public.
The Lafayette Trail marker was donated to Butler County by Lafayette Trail, Inc. with funding from the William G. Pomeroy Foundation.
