Campaigns raise thousands for families of fatal crash victims in Summit Township
A GoFundMe has been started for the family of a 22-year-old who died in a crash Saturday, May 16, in Summit Township
Skyler Gray, 22, of Cadogan, was the driver, when two people were killed after a Honda Accord left the road, overturned and struck a tree, according to state police. The crash occurred around 10 p.m. on Freeport Road near Headland Road.
“His sudden passing in a tragic car accident on May 17, 2026, has left his family and friends heartbroken and unprepared for the challenges ahead,” wrote Mandy Trautman in a GoFundMe organized for Gray’s family.
The GoFundMe had raised $2,639 in its first 18 hours.
The other person killed in the crash was Nevaeh Schweinsberg, 19, of Butler, according to police.
Police also said a 17-year-old girl in the back seat of the vehicle was ejected during the crash and sustained serious injuries. She is recovering at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
According to police, the single-vehicle crash involved driving under the influence.
