Donald “Butch” Reese, 79, of Slippery Rock, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026.

He was born in Boyers on March 29, 1947, son of the late Donald and Violet Reese.

Butch held numerous jobs throughout his life: as a constable, truck driver, repo man, firefighter and heavy equipment operator.

He loved drag racing, classic cars and spending his time outdoors, hunting and fishing.

Butch was the beloved husband of Nellie (Ealy) Reese, whom he married June 11, 1986; father of George and William “Bill” Moore; brother of Roy, Dave, Dori and Mary Reese and Jerry, Grace and Peggy Parker; grandfather of 15; and great-grandfather of 16.

Along with his parents, Butch was preceded in death by his children, Genie Summers and Norma Jean Claypoole; and siblings, Albert Reese, Donna Claypoole and Ray “Lee” Parker.
