Experience Butler County outside this summer
As the weather finally starts to warm up, there will be more and more outdoor events available throughout the Butler area.
There will likely be several things to pick from every week and every weekend. They’ll have different offerings and they’ll have differing purposes — some will be fundraisers for specific causes, some revolve around holidays and others will just aim to bring people together or drum up some business.
They’ll all have one thing in common, though. They’ll all get us out of our houses and interacting with each other.
Every borough, township and city offering will be well publicized here in the Butler Eagle, on various social media pages and other sources.
Luckily, Experience Butler’s website has a comprehensive events listing that can be searched by date range, town and category — such as fairs and festivals, events for children, history and heritage, parades, sports, shopping, and artistic and cultural events.
A quick search for a children’s event on May 16 turned up “Have you ever seen a hairy snake” storybook trail at Jennings Environmental Educational Center in Slippery Rock; EDCO Fest 2026 at EDCO Park in Evans City and Safety Day at Rural King in Butler.
A search for something artistic on June 13 showed us the Butler County Symphony Summer Concert Series at Diamond Park.
A quick look for something to do outside on July 10 revealed Cranberry Summer Nights at Cranberry Community Park.
Butler County residents should not only check out the calendar and related search engine at www.experiencebutler.com/events, they should also realize what a great resource we have that most communities do not. Very few counties have anything like this type of searchable event database.
It’s a feather in Experience Butler’s cap, but it’s a big benefit to all of us who live here.
This summer, if you’re bored in Butler County, that’s on you.
