Sarver man continues Wheel of Fortune run
Sarver resident Drew Rummel returned to the screen Friday evening, April 24, for his second round of Wheel of Fortune while sporting his Harley Davidson attire.
Taking the first $3,000 of the night with quick answers in the “occupation” and “happy hour” categories, Rummel got a good lead on his competitors.
“When you start out with the first two toss ups it does make it a little more fun.” Rummel said in an interview.
Despite a bankrupt spin shortly after, Rummel didn’t let that discourage him.
Rummel solved the “song lyrics” category as well after a few rounds of letters, winning a trip to the Dominic Republic with the answer. Another $4,000 dollars flowed in quickly after as he solved two toss-up puzzles worth $2,000 each in the “things” category.
Bringing his total for the night up to $17,560 by the third round, Rummel solved yet another puzzle, giving him the chance to choose the next puzzle category for a bonus round. Rummel decided on the category of “what are you doing?”
“I like the puzzles that have more words to them. They’re easier to figure out.” Rummel said about his choice.
Rummel took the main game and went on to the bonus round where he managed to solve the puzzle and win $40,000 for his guess of “clamoring for more,” bringing his winnings for the night to $57,560.
Rummel’s total winnings over two nights came to $89,058.
“The first night exceeded what I expected out of the whole process,” Rummel said Friday night, “I just wanted to play the game, have a good time and win some money at the end. The whole experience was just a lot of fun.”
Rummel will return on Monday’s episode. For those who can’t catch them when they air, episodes can be streamed the next day on Hulu or Peacock.
