Seneca Valley recognizes Raiders hockey team’s win

JACKSON TWP — The Seneca Valley Raiders hockey team was honored at the school district’s Monday, April 21, board meeting, receiving praise from board members and coaches.

Board President Eric DiTullio compared watching the teams playoffs live to watching the Pittsburgh Penguins.

“When you had a game and we had a board meeting, I would always update the board and whoever was in the audience what the score was.” DiTullio said.

The Raiders have been the Class 3A Champions two years in a row.

DiTullio encouraged underclassmen about to step up next season, saying, “Hey juniors, like I said last year, you guys have got to do it again. These guys stepped up and did it. I think you can do it as well.”

The board congratulated the players and their families, recognizing the families’ commitment to the sport, from parents handling transportation to players handling practice time.

“It was an amazing year. You guys really dominated the league. It was awesome to watch the whole year.” DiTullio remarked.
