Joan Sheptak

Sheptak

Joan Ruth Sheptak, 91, of Little Canada, Minn., formerly of Butler, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

Joan lived a life marked by kindness, steadiness and quiet resilience. She was proud of her 30‑plus‑year career with Dayton Hudson, where she watched the transition from Dayton’s to Marshall Field’s, and finally to Macy’s — a journey she spoke of often and with great pride.

She found joy in simple pleasures: watching her favorite John Wayne movies, surrounding herself with the color pink, and listening to the music she loved. Those who knew her will remember her gentle presence and the quiet warmth she brought to every day.

She is survived by her son, Wally (Candis); her sisters, Linda Bowser and Julie (Lenny) Green; and many others who were touched by her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Sr.; her sister, Dorothy Schontz; and her brother, John Wallak.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, at Roselawn Cemetery Chapel, 803 W. Larpenteur Ave., Roseville, Minn., with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m.
