Regis Laconi
Regis A. Laconi, 99, of Butler, passed away at his residence on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Born Aug. 18, 1926, in Butler, he was a son of the late Vincent Laconi and Antonia DeFoggi Laconi.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II. He graduated from Duquesne University.
Rege taught Spanish and history in the Knoch School District for over 30 years. He also served as an assistant football coach at Knoch.
He was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. It gave him great joy to attend daily Mass following his retirement.
Rege played baseball, and he also played football for the Butler Cubs. He loved golf, and he enjoyed going on golf trips with his brothers.
He is survived by three children, Bev Laconi, of Mars, Tina Zuets, of Butler, and Scott Laconi and his wife, Wendy, of Butler; four grandchildren, Chiara Brink and her husband, Doug, John Matthew Kline and his wife, Chloe, Camden Laconi and Carson Laconi; and three great-grandchildren, Cohen Paisley, Sadie Kline and Callie Marie Kline.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jocelyn A. “Joyce” Berkes Laconi, whom he married Aug. 10, 1957, and who passed away Aug. 27, 2025; one son, John Laconi; three brothers, Attilio Laconi, who was killed in action in World War II, Joseph Laconi and George Laconi; and three sisters, Rosina Laconi Long, Lucille Laconi Beatrice and Corinne Laconi O’Donnell.
LACONI — There was no visitation, and services and burial were private for Regis A. Laconi, who died Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of MARTIN FUNERAL HOME SOUTH SIDE, 429 Center Ave., Butler.
