State police: 532 crashes, 286 DUIs over Easter weekend

Pennsylvania State Police said it investigate hundreds of crashes and made hundreds of DUI arrests over Easter weekend.

According to traffic enforcement and crash statistics released Wednesday, April 8, state police investigated 532 vehicle crashes, six resulting in fatalities, and 91 causing injury, from Friday to Sunday. Impaired driving was a factor in 42 of those.

Over the holiday weekend, troopers arrested 286 individuals for driving under the influence.

These statistics cover only incidents investigated by the state police and do not include incidents other law enforcement agencies responded to.

Crash data this Easter was very similar to last year’s. In 2025, Easter weekend saw 527 crashes and 282 DUI arrests.

State police also issued 3,230 citations for speeding, 335 for not wearing a seat belt and 40 for not securing children in safety seats.
