H. Jack Buzard

Buzard

H. Jack Buzard, 80, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family, as he would want, on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026.

Jack was born in West Monterey, Clarion County, on July 12, 1945, and was the son of the late Lewis and Treva Logan Buzard.

He graduated from Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School in 1963. He earned a degree from the former Clarion State College in 1967, and later attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Jack was a proud U.S. Army veteran. He served in Da Nang, Vietnam, with Graves Registration/Mortuary Affairs, from 1970 to 1971.

Jack’s commitment to helping others began when he founded the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home in Eau Claire in 1972. He established a second location, in Parker, in 1977. For over 50 years, he was devoted to his communities. Jack was a dedicated member of Rotary International (PACSO) and served as commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7073. He frequently spoke at community events, including commencements, dedications, fundraisers, sportsman nights, memorials, and many veteran and church programs.

Jack was a proud member of Park Hill First Church of God, in Parker. His faith guided and comforted him. He enjoyed NASCAR races and golfing. He liked being with people and helping when needed. He also enjoyed sitting outside, reading the paper with coffee and all things aviation. He attended many air shows and even flew in a Ford Tri-Motor.

Despite his achievements, Jack’s favorite place was home. He spent time with his family and was a loving part of his grandchildren’s lives.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gail Beatty Buzard, of Eau Claire. He was the father of Stephen (Sara) Buzard, of Foxburg, Christine Farrington, of Erie, and Janette (Jeff) Hensler, of Butler. His grandchildren are Tanner (Megan) McCall; Carter (Meghan) McCall; Peyton McCall, and his companion, Morgan; Schuyler Hensler; Lucas Hensler; Jackson Buzard; and Ray Ray Buzard. His great-granddaughter is Elowyn McCall.

He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Dean (Carol) Beatty; sister-in-law, Mary Beatty; a very special friend/team and family member, Cody (Maggie) Thompson, of Eau Claire; numerous nieces and nephews, whom he adored; and his adopted daughter, Jennifer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carl (Dixie) Buzard; his sister, Lucille (Bud) Donaldson; and his brother-in-law, James Beatty.
