Butler Township Planning moves Baglier storage building forward
BUTLER TWP — A local car dealer is preparing to build a new indoor storage facility after receiving a recommendation for approval by the township’s planning commission.
Jonathan Garczewski, project manager with Gateway Engineers, presented a plan for a one-story, 6,000-square-foot indoor storage facility to be used by Baglier Buick GMC and Baglier Mazda.
“It’s an overflow lot, and this allows them to detail the vehicles as they get transferred in and out, or they purchase vehicles or sell vehicles,” Garczewski said during a township planning commission meeting on Tuesday, April 7.
The plot, located on Comfort Lane, already contains one building and will continue to meet stormwater ordinance requirements even after a second is constructed. Accessible parking will be shifted to a more central location between the two buildings, Garczewski said.
“New utility services will just be electric and gas service for the building itself. There’s no plumbing and no bathrooms in the new facility,” he explained.
The plan was approved unanimously by the planning commission on the condition of a development agreement and adhering to changes recommended in Lennon, Smith, Souleret Engineering’s — the township’s alternate engineering firm — review letter.
Butler Township Board of Commissioners will vote on whether to grant final approval to the project at its next meeting at 6:30 p.m. April 20.
