Miller Minutes: ‘Find your new favorite thing’

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes,

Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes,

Silver white winters that melt into springs,

These are a few of my favorite things!

I always think of this song (and my favorite things) when the weather turns. As I sang this to myself this morning, it got me thinking: my favorite kind of event is one that lends a helping hand.

And what Butler County has to offer you this weekend will help you do just that.

Even if you attend a craft bazaar, book sale or raffle-filled luncheon, you’re donating to causes which help your friends and neighbors. Your small act can make our community a better place; and you have fun while doing it!

I’m always extra chipper writing up spring events. Maybe it’s the flower-themed posters or the increased opportunities to venture outside. Either way, I can’t help but smile when I think about you all dressing up in your best (white dresses with blue satin sashes) and stepping out to do a good deed. Whether you realize it is a good deed or not is besides the point. It is the reality.

So, if you are looking at your weekend, make an organization’s day and find your new favorite thing at an event below!
