Surprise! Zendaya wears something blue, after the old, new and borrowed
NEW YORK — Yup, she wore something blue.
Zendaya, surprising precisely nobody on the planet, showed up in dazzling blue at Thursday’s New York premiere of “The Drama,” after teasing the bridal theme for weeks by wearing something old, then something new, then something borrowed.
Her strapless Schiaparelli Haute Couture ball gown, accompanied by sapphire earrings, completed the sartorial series just in time for the opening of her movie — a film that has attracted considerable controversy and mixed reviews. Zendaya and Robert Pattinson play a couple whose wedding plans go seriously awry following a dark revelation.
The high-fashion appearances have also echoed the bridal theme of Zendaya’s own life, with unconfirmed speculation flying — fed in part by rings she’s been wearing — that she’s already married to partner Tom Holland.
The actor and her stylist, Law Roach, saved the most spectacular outfit for last. Schiaparelli posted on its own Instagram that the gown, which took some 8,000 hours of work, was made of blue and black raw silk “feathers” in satin stitch embroidery, and contained 27 shades of blue.
“Something old” came in Los Angeles on March 17, where Zendaya wore the same white, off-the-shoulder Vivienne Westwood Bridal gown that she’d worn to the 2015 Oscars.
She transitioned to “something new” at the March 24 Paris premiere — a white custom Louis Vuitton gown with a huge black bow and train.
“Something borrowed” came two days later in Rome, a black Armani Privé dress previously worn by Cate Blanchett, with a plunging neckline framed with stones.
Finally on Thursday, Zendaya completed the circle. “SomethingBlue,” posted Roach.
In case nobody had noticed.

PayPal and Pepsi are among the blockbuster sponsors pulling out of an upcoming London music festival thanks to its headlining act, the enduringly controversial Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.
The 48-year-old Grammy winner, who’s taken it upon himself to promote Nazism, is slated to headline all three nights of Wireless Festival, which will take place in Finsbury Park from July 10 through July 12.
PayPal will no longer appear in any of the rap and hip-hop fest’s future promotional materials, despite previously serving as an annual partner, per ITV News Monday.
TMZ reports that Pepsi has also severed ties with this year’s fest, followed shortly thereafter by beverage company Diageo.
The Daily News has reached out to the festival to ask how the sponsorships falling through will impact the festival or the decision to keep Ye as headliner.
Also Monday, ITV reported that U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer finds it “deeply concerning” to have Ye headline.
Politicians and the Campaign Against Antisemitism alike have called on officials to ban the “Heartless” rapper from heading across the pond — where he has not performed since headlining Glastonbury Festival in 2015.
Ye is fresh off the March 27 release of his latest album, “Bully,” which was initially expected to drop at the end of January.
Days prior, Ye took out a full-page Wall Street Journal ad to apologize for years of antisemitic and racist screeds and stunts. Many viewed the apology as a means of generating good press ahead of “Bully,” which was promptly denied by the rapper, whose 2025 antisemitic anthem “Heil Hitler” pays homage to the Nazi leader.
Just last week, while playing his first Los Angeles show since 2021, Ye stopped a SoFi stadium performance no less than three times to slam the “corny” lighting.

NEW YORK — Megan Thee Stallion has made her return to “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” after a midshow hospitalization earlier this week.
The Grammy-winner was greeted by a sold-out crowd when she took the stage inside New York’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre on Thursday evening. She stars as nightclub owner Harold Zidler in the show, with her run on Broadway slated to end on May 17.
The rapper, born Megan Pete, exited the show midperformance on Tuesday after suddenly falling ill and was “transported to a local hospital to undergo a medical evaluation after experiencing concerning symptoms,” her rep told The Hollywood Reporter at the time.
“Doctors ultimately identified extreme exhaustion, dehydration, vasoconstriction and low metabolic levels as the cause of her symptoms,” they continued.
“Megan has since been treated, discharged and is now resting.”
In statement shared Wednesday, Megan told fans the experience was “a real wake-up call,” explaining that she’d been “pushing myself past my limits lately, running on empty, and my body finally said enough.” The “Mamushi” rapper added that her condition deteriorated to the point where she thought she might faint onstage.
“Hotties I wanna be real with y’all because you mean everything to me and I hate letting yall down,” she concluded. “I just need one day to rest, reset, and take care of myself the way I should have been.”
Her star turn in “Moulin Rouge!” marks her first appearance on Broadway. It also marks the first time a woman has played the role of Zidler in the show’s history.
