Rodger Davis
Rodger M. Davis transitioned to eternity with Jesus on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, while surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home.
Rodger was born Aug. 15, 1962, son of the late Mary Lou (Sherman) and Harry E. Davis, in Butler. He was a graduate of Knoch High School in 1980.
Rodger married his wife of 41 years, Darla (Reott) Davis, on March 9, 1985. He was the proud father of Hollie Davis, of Pittsburgh, and Aaron (Renee) Davis, of Ligonier. His most recent title as “Pappy” to his grandson, Oliver, brought him great joy.
Rodger started working for his dad and eventually took over his water well drilling and pump service business, Harry E. Davis & Sons, in the ’80s, and he loved going to work every day. He found great joy and purpose in his work and loved being able to serve others. Rodger took every opportunity he could to share his faith and pray with those that he would meet.
Rodger loved to be outside, especially if he was hunting or going on fishing trips with his son. For him, nothing could beat a good fried fish sandwich, and he was known by many as a corn on the cob connoisseur. Rodger was a talker and would talk to anyone and everyone. He truly loved people. He would give you the shirt off of his back and always found ways to be generous.
Rodger fought a courageous three-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He remained steadfast in his faith up until the very end. He continued to encourage others and witness to many along the way. He ran his race well and fought the good fight.
In addition to his wife, children and grandson, Rodger is survived by his brothers, Robert (Sue) Davis, Randy (Kathy) Davis and Ronald (Doris) Davis. Additionally, he is survived by his mother in-law, Kay Reott; as well as brothers-in-law, Dean Reott, Daniel Reott, Duane (Patty) Reott, Daryl Reott and Doug (Debbie) Reott; and sisters-in-law, Debbie Young and Denise Robinson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
