Jeffrey Cross
Jeffrey Alan Cross, 65, of Harrisville, passed away at his residence on Sunday, March 29, 2026, following a brief illness.
He was born in Grove City on Oct. 23, 1960, to William Frank Cross and Annabelle Sweeney Cross.
He married Cindy Rae Curry on May 21, 1988. She survives at the residence.
Jeff graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1979 and was an active member of Friendship Presbyterian Church (Wolfcreek), where he served as an elder. Jeff worked at Cooper Energy in Grove City, initially in the shipping department and later the foundry. He later drove truck for Hovis Trucking and then bus for Butler Motor Transit, both tour and city.
He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and a great contributor to his church and community. He managed the Friendship Community Center and the Wolf Creek Cemetery, both in Worth Township.
Survivors are his wife, Cindy, at home; daughter, Michelle L. (Jeremy) Whitehouse, of Grove City; stepson, L.D. (Mandy) Williams, of Portersville; sister, Sarah “Sue” A. Datt, of Harrisville; four grandchildren, Micheal S. Adams, Lilly K Whitehouse and Donovan and Katelyn Carr; niece, Heather Datt, of Harrisville; nephew, Will Datt, of Patriot, Ind.; great-nephew, Nick Datt, of Missouri; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Marsha Cross, in 2017; parents; and brother-in-law, William Datt.
CROSS — Family of Jeffrey Alan Cross, who died Sunday, March 29, 2026, will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 2, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday, April 3, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.
There will be a celebration of life service for Jeff at 11 a.m. Friday, April 3, at the funeral home, led by Diane Whitman and Kerry Dowdy, of Friendship Presbyterian Church.
Interment will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery, Worth Township.
