Neff younger

Anthony Joseph Neff, 95, of Chicora, peacefully went to be with the Lord, on Friday, March 27, 2026. He passed away in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side.

Born in Chicora on Jan. 25, 1931, he was a son of the late Charles Neff and Regina Ritzert Neff.

Anthony was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in the village of North Oakland, where he was an altar server since the age of seven.

He was a devout man who daily prayed the Rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and watched Mass on television. He belonged to the Holy Name Society and he was a life member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Roberta Barnes Neff, whom he married Oct. 12, 1963, at St. Joseph Church; his son, the Rev. Steven V. Neff, of Pittsburgh; his daughter Rebecca Zedreck and her husband, Jerry, of Prospect; son-in-law, DeWitt Schnell, of Chicora; four grandchildren, Emily Schnell, Melissa Timblin, Nicole Kuctha and her husband, Jason, and Christopher Zedreck and his wife, Amanda; six great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Logan Timblin, Brynn and Jaxson Kuctha, and Hunter and Racer Zedreck; one brother, Jack Neff and his wife, Bonnie; one sister, Marcella “Sally” Desmond; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Toni Josephine Schnell, and Toni’s two infant sons; three sisters, Josephine Neff, Clare Marie Neff and Mary Elizabeth Mulligan; and nine brothers, Bill, Harry, Richard, Elmer, George, Stephen, David, Morris and Joseph Neff.

A prayerful and faithful man, Anthony was eagerly looking forward to seeing all his loved ones who have passed away, especially his dear mom, Regina, and his beloved daughter, Toni Jo, and the Blessed Mother.

The family thanks Good Samaritan Hospice, especially Niki, Tammy and Patty, for their excellent care; Anthony’s caregivers, Missy and Marsha; and the great neighbors who have been by our side during the final months of Anthony’s life.
