Shearer Bridge to undergo preservation project
Shearer Bridge in Butler and Summit townships, which carries Route 422 over Connoquenessing Creek, will undergo a preservation project through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, starting Wednesday, April 1.
Preservation work will begin around the area of the intersection of East Jefferson Street and Route 422. The first phase of the project will involve single-lane, 12-foot restrictions on both the eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 422.
Mekis Construction of Fenelton will be in charge of the project, which is estimated to cost $6.2 million and finish by October 2026.
