Nancy Howard
Nancy Kovacik Baldauff Howard passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2025, at her home in Alexandria, Va., after a short illness.
She was a 1961 graduate of Butler High School and a 1965 graduate of Slippery Rock University. She was a teacher for Alexandria schools, teaching middle school English and drama. She also received the Golden Apple Award for exceptional teaching. Upon her retirement, she became a docent for the District of Columbia for 17 years, including the Folger Library.
She and her husband of 44 years, Steve, traveled extensively and she is survived by him. She had one daughter, Sarah Chapman Baldauff, who passed away Dec. 24, 1975, when she was three. Her oldest sister, Pat Bush, passed away in Phoenix, Ariz., in 2023. She is survived by her younger sister, Antonette “Toni” Fennick, who resides in Butler; also one nephew, Richard Bush, of Phoenix, Ariz. There are several surviving cousins.
There will be a celebration of life later in Washington, D.C.
