Multiple emergency crews responded Friday morning, March 20, for reports of a tanker truck with a wheel on fire outside the PennDOT maintenance building on New Castle Road.

Crews were dispatched just before 7:30 a.m. to the area of New Castle Road near the Butler Crossing shopping plaza, according to Butler County Emergency Services dispatch.

VA Butler Fire and Emergency Services personnel reported a small brake fire in the tanker carrying 50% hydrogen peroxide. Crews were already extinguishing the fire by 7:35 a.m.

Butler Ambulance Service and Butler Township Volunteer Fire District also responded.

The incident was terminated at 7:54 a.m.
