Joseph ‘Pat’ Callaghan
Joseph “Pat” Callaghan, 86, of Butler, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026.
Born Nov. 1, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of Dorothy and Daniel Callaghan.
He worked as an electrical supervisor for Battelle Memorial Institute for 38 years. He enjoyed baseball, shuffleboard, golf and was an avid Ohio State fan.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Drescher Leslie Callaghan, of Butler; children, Patrick and Phillip (MaryBeth) Callaghan, Cindy (Tom) Hickey and John (Jackie) Callaghan; and stepchildren, Lorene Rudolph, Lee (Linda Massucci) Kennedy and Kerry (Wendy) Leslie. He was adored by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews and many longtime friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry; and his first wife, Carolyn Brady Callaghan.
He always had a smile on his face. Pat loved his life in full measure.
CALLAGHAN — A private burial for Joseph “Pat” Callaghan, who died Monday, March 16, 2026, will be held in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
