County received up to 5 inches of snow overnight
Three to four inches of snow fell on Butler County on Monday evening, March 16, and overnight, with parts of the county seeing five inches, according to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.
A spokesperson said the most snow in the county fell in the southeast portions of Butler County. Temperatures remained in the 20s throughout the night and are expected to stay the same Tuesday.
First Energy Corporation reported 313 power outages in the county Tuesday morning with most reported in the Butler and Jackson Township areas. The company said it anticipated additional outages would occur Monday night due to more weather moving through the area.
Wind gusts Monday reached around 30 mph but should calm to around 25 mph Tuesday, the weather service said. Wind speeds will be consistent between 10 and 20 mph Tuesday.
The weather service said most areas of the county will see another inch of snow Tuesday with some areas seeing more due to localized heavier snow bands.
