Pittsburgh man accused of entering occupied camper uninvited

A Pittsburgh man is accused of entering a camper uninvited in search of a person to help him.

Robert Christopher Tabor, 39, was charged Friday, March 13, with one felony count each of criminal trespass and possession with intent to deliver controlled substances and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession following an incident Friday.

Police were dispatched to Indian Brave Campground in Jackson Township, where a resident awoke to find an unknown man inside their camper.

When police arrived, they found Tabor with the park manager. The resident had called the manager, who persuaded Tabor to leave the camper.

The camper’s door failed to lock after they exited, allowing Tabor to reenter. The park manager again persuaded Tabor to leave and stayed with him until police arrived.

The manager said while waiting for police, Tabor told her “he sees invisible people” and they altered him physically. Tabor told her he only went inside the camper because he believed there was a man inside who could fix the change, police said.

Police placed Tabor under arrest and discovered he was attempting to conceal two ziplock bags of cocaine, a scale and a cellphone.

Police then spoke with the camper residents who said the dogs barking at Tabor woke them. They said Tabor was pacing around the room and talking to himself but did not try to harm them.

The residents were unsure how Tabor initially entered the camper since the door was locked with no signs of forced entry.

Tabor’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 25 before District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz.
