PennDOT invites local students to Paint the Plow for annual contest
High school students from Butler, Armstrong, Clarion, Indiana, and Jefferson counties are invited to take part in PennDOT’s annual Paint the Plow contest.
The Paint the Plow program, which started in 2015, challenges high school students to paint a mural on a PennDOT snowplow blade to promote winter driving safety. The winner of the contest is the design that best captures the theme which is selected each year by PennDOT.
This year’s theme is “Snow Means Slow,” to remind drivers to slow down and exercise caution during snowy weather. Last year, the theme was “Don’t Race, Allow Some Space.”
Last year’s Paint the Plow winner from District 10 was Keystone High School in Clarion County. Its plow received 441 votes in the online “fan favorite” voting.
