Edward ‘Eddie’ Leone

Edward “Eddie” E. Leone, 91, of Boyers, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026.

He was born April 13, 1934, in Boyers, the son of the late Ralph and Edith Vitale Leone.

Eddie served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, receiving the Good Conduct Medal for his service. He retired from Slippery Rock University, where he was the trades coordinator, receiving the Presidential Service Award in 1992. He worked for many years as a carpenter and was a former member of Epiphany Catholic Church. Eddie enjoyed helping others and building things for his family, friends and neighbors.

He is survived by two sons, Joe (Chris) Leone, of Boyers, and Dan (Sue) Leone, of Butler; three grandchildren, Nicolas, Erica and Haley; two stepgrandchildren, Lauren and Carlie; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dora Bonetti.

Eddie was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Paula J. (Miller) Leone, whom he lovingly cared for over many years; son, Thomas Leone; grandson, Justin Leone; two brothers, James and Ben; two sisters, Mary Dorcy and Catherine Trevelline; and an infant sister, Emma Leone.

The Leone family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at The Seasons of Saxonburg for providing excellent care for Eddie in his final months.

LEONE — Services and burial at Eau Claire Cemetery will be held privately for Edward “Eddie” E. Leone, who died Friday, March 6, 2026.

The Young family of WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, West Sunbury, has assisted the family with arrangements.
