North Catholic boys tennis squeezed by Mars 3-2 in the season opener Monday at Mars High School.
Justin Garvey won the Singles 1 match against the Planets’ Cal Johnson 6-4, 6-3, and Jake Sinclair won Singles 3 by a 6-3, 7-5 score. Trojans pair Paddy McCabe and Lenny Splane sealed the win in Doubles 1, beating Arya Raut and Luke Bowser 6-2, 7-5.
Jaxon Hittle won Mars a Singles 2 point 6-3, 3-6, 10-5.
Shaler 5, Butler 0 — Butler boys tennis opened the season with a road loss. Singles 1 player Carson Stewart was closest to a win, falling 10-9.
