Josephine A. “Josie” Vasbinder, 93, of East Brady, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Born March 19, 1932, in Bradys Bend, she was the daughter of the late Guiliano and Celeste (DeMattis) Andreassi.

On June 28, 1952, she married the love of her life, Arthur W. Vasbinder. Together they shared 65 devoted years of marriage before his passing in 2017. Their home was built on a foundation of faith, love and unwavering dedication to family.

Josie was a faithful member of St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church, where she was active in the Ladies Guild. Her faith was an important part of her life and guided the way she cared for others.

Above all else, Josie cherished her family. She found great joy in caring for those she loved — whether preparing meals for family gatherings, sharing stories around the table or simply spending time together. She also enjoyed taking her daily walks and staying connected with friends and neighbors in the community she loved.

She is survived by her loving children, Peggy Lambert (David), of Forestville; Julie Barr (Tom Byrnes), of East Brady; Arthur W. Vasbinder (Connie), of East Brady; Michael L. Vasbinder (Carol Dell), of East Brady; and David P. Vasbinder (Shelly), of Mars. She was the proud and devoted grandmother of nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by three sisters, Lydia Emerick, Malphine Fogel and Helen Bartoe; one brother, Silvio Andreassi (Shirley); and many nieces, nephews and extended family members who will remember her kindness and steady presence.

In addition to her parents and husband, Josie was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Carol L. Bresso; a grandson, Nathan Lambert; two sisters; and one brother.

Josie will be remembered for her deep faith, her loving heart and the quiet strength with which she cared for her family throughout her life.

VASBINDER — Friends of Josephine A. Vasbinder, who died Saturday, March 7, 2026, will be received from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at BUECHELE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 707 Kellys Way, East Brady.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at St. Eusebius Church, with the Rev. Jason Feigh officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bradys Bend.
