Butler Township police were requested to shut down a portion of East Jefferson Street after a fire was reported around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, in the 900 block, according to Butler County Emergency Services dispatch.

The three-story structure at 937 E. Jefferson St. reportedly houses a store and apartments.

Butler Township Volunteer Fire District, Butler Bureau of Fire, Butler Ambulance Service and Unionville Volunteer Fire Company were initially dispatched.
