Laverne ‘Vern’ Wolfe

Laverne “Vern” J. Wolfe, 97, from Butler, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026.

Born Aug. 15, 1928, in Butler, Vern was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia M. Wolfe; his sons, Michael, Jeffrey and Steven Wolfe; and his daughter, Barbara Long, along with their spouses. He also leaves numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Wolfe; his brothers, Donald and Norman Wolfe; and his daughter-in-law.

A proud Korean War veteran, Vern dedicated more than 65 years as a manager at two Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealerships, retiring at age 90. He was known for his strong work ethic, candid personality, and deep appreciation for his friends, colleagues, neighbors and longtime barber, who helped him remain independent throughout his later years.

He will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his integrity and the steady, honest way he lived his life.

WOLFE — All services for Laverne “Vern” J. Wolfe, who died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, will be held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
