Margaret ‘Maggie’ Johnston
Margaret L. “Maggie” Johnston, 90, of Butler, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026.
She was born in St. Petersburg, Pa., daughter of the late Charles and Leona (Stein) Dittman.
Maggie received her GED diploma from Butler High School and was employed at American Hardware/Service Star.
She was a member of the Pennsylvania Harness Racing Commission. Maggie will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.
Maggie was the beloved wife of the late John Johnston, since their marriage on April 11, 1953; mother of Carmen (Ron) McGallis, John (Lisa), Scott, Dennis (Jodi) and Randy (Tracey) Johnston; sister of Delores (Don) Bell and Richard Dittman; grandmother of 12; and great-grandmother of 23. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Maggie was preceded in death by her infant son; one granddaughter; one daughter-in-law; and her siblings, Charles, John, Pat and Robert Dittman, June Robinson and Elizabeth Johnson.
JOHNSTON — All arrangements for Margaret L. “Maggie” Johnston, who died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, were made through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
