James ‘Jimmy’ Hoover

James P. “Jimmy” Hoover, 69, of Butler, passed away Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026.

He was born in Greensburg on Jan. 1, 1957, to the late Paul and E. Jean (Thomas) Hoover.

Jimmy graduated from Greensburg Salem High School and honorably served in the U.S. Navy. After his service, he was employed as a laborer for numerous places. Jimmy was known for being a great storyteller, generous, kindhearted and would always put other people first. He was an animal lover and in his free time, he enjoyed riding his bike. Jimmy was an active member of AA for many years.

Jimmy is survived by his siblings, Ron (Louise) and Dan (Shelly) Hoover, Linda (Howard) Keefer and Judy (Damon) Shutak.

HOOVER — Family and friends of James P. “Jimmy” Hoover, who died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 2, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.

Donations may be made to the Butler County Humane Society in honor of Jimmy.
