Nancy J. Somerfield Neal, 88, of Butler, passed away Friday, Feb. 13, 2026.

She was born Feb. 26, 1937, in Sewickley Township, Westmoreland County, and was the daughter of the late William A. Somerfield and Theona V. (Tissue) Somerfield.

Nancy was a proud graduate of West Sunbury High School, Class of 1955. During her school years, she served as FHA president, was a member of the demonstration team and shared her musical talents as pianist for the school choir.

She married Robert D. Neal Sr. on March 12, 1981, and together they shared many years of love and companionship until his passing.

Nancy was a devoted and loving mother to her four children, Donald “Pete” (Glenda) L. Davis, and three that preceded her in death. She was also a caring stepmother to Leona Neal Mosnik and Robert Neal Jr. She is also survived by her brother, Donald Somerfield.

Nancy dedicated many years of service as a licensed practical nurse at Butler VA Medical Center, retiring in 1992. She found great fulfillment in caring for others, a reflection of her kind heart and beautiful soul.

Nancy’s love extended far beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of countless grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Her warmth, strength and unwavering devotion to her family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Along with her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her children, Cindy Davis Duffel, Dennis L. Davis and Susan D. Davis; and her brother, William Somerfield.

NEAL — Family and friends of Nancy J. Somerfield Neal, who died Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
