Clarence W. Clanton Jr., 91, of Butler, formerly of Valencia, passed away at his daughter and son-in-law’s residence surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026.

He was born Aug. 24, 1934, in Lancaster, Pa., son of the late Clarence Sr. and Sophia Clanton.

Clarence graduated from high school in 1952. After graduating, Clarence proudly served our country by enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he served for four years. He then went on to work for Gulf Oil/Chevron as a chemist for many years before retiring. He was also a longtime church attendant. He enjoyed going to several different churches. He even was baptized late in life at age 87. Clarence enjoyed camping, bowling and spending time with his loving family.

Clarence is survived by his daughter, Lemira (Tyson) Frasur, of Butler; son, Bill (Angie) Clanton, of Burton, Mich.; grandchildren, Victoria (Nick) McGowan, of Butler, Alexa Voelp, of Butler, Brady Lee Clanton, of Burton, and Cody Clanton, of Burton; and by his numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Kay (Weaver) Clanton, whom he married Nov. 19, 1965, and who passed away Feb. 8, 2015; and his brother, James Clanton, on Feb. 7, 2026.

CLANTON — Per the wishes of the family, there will be no formal service for Clarence W. Clanton Jr., who died Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, but a celebration of life will be held at his daughter’s home from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Flowers may be sent to his daughter’s home at 416 Sunset Drive, Butler, PA 16001.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
