Brady May’s last-second 3 launches SRU men’s basketball past Clarion: Roundup
Brady Mayo’s 3-pointer with 4.7 to go pushed Slippery Rock University’s men’s basketball team past Clarion 80-78 at home Wednesday.
The win pushed The Rock to 15-8 on the season (8-7 in PSAC West play), and sits them at the No. 4 spot in the division standings, which, if it holds, would give them a home conference playoff game.
Slippery Rock is assured a winning record for the seventh consecutive season. It led the Golden Eagles 70-49 with 9:25 remaining in regulation.
Butler graduate Braylon Littlejohn scored six points in the win. SRU plays rival Indiana (Pa.) on Saturday.
Slippery Rock University’s women’s hoops team led for the final 32:45 of Wednesday night’s 78-72 win over Clarion, improving to 7-14 overall (5-10 PSAC West).
Iyanna Wade paced the Rock with 20 points, while Alyssa Gillin had a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double. Mairan Haggerty had 15 points.
