Mona Frole
Mona L. Frole, 89, of Silver Spring, Md., formerly of Butler, peacefully passed away Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with dementia.
She was born Aug. 19, 1936, in Butler, and in the early 1960s she moved to the Washington, D.C., area, where she made her home for more than 60 years.
Mona built a dedicated career in the accounting field, where she worked for over 50 years until her retirement in 2008. She was known for her strong work ethic, quiet kindness and independent spirit. Those who knew Mona will remember her as a gentle and thoughtful woman with a generous heart.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Nancy Frole, of Silver Spring, Md.; her nieces, Dana Guenzel and her husband, Grant, of Montgomery Village, Md., and Rona Grence and her husband, John, of Zelienople; and three great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mona was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph L. Frole and Esther Mendicino Frole; and her two brothers, Joseph A. Frole and Gordon P. Frole.
FROLE — A Mass of Christian Burial for Mona L. Frole, who died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2026, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at All Saints Parish, St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler, with the Rev. John J. Baver officiating.
