Anna ‘Ginger’ Zarnick
Our loving mother, Anna Marilyn “Ginger” Zarnick, died peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, at Parker Personal Care Home after an extended illness. Ginger formerly resided in Eau Claire for 65 years. She was 91 years old.
Ginger was born in Bullion, Pa. on April 16, 1934, the daughter of Merle and Mary Farren Ralston. One of six siblings, she grew up in Bullion, where she attended the local one-room schoolhouse before moving to Boyers, where she then attended Concord High School. She was married to William “Bill” Zarnick in 1958.
Ginger was a truly remarkable woman. In her younger years, she worked at the Butler Shirt Factory and at Edna’s Diner in Eau Claire, where she met the love of her life, Bill. As a mother, she was a stay-at-home mom devoted to her children, her husband and her home. After her children were grown, she became Bill’s traveling companion on many of his business journeys in the tristate area. He just had to promise an Arby’s, and she was in the front seat for another adventure.
Ginger is survived by her children, Debra (Philip) Dallos, of Placida, Fla., Alan (Pam) Zarnick, of North Washington, and James (Kris) Zarnick, of Hooker. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Annie (Jesse) Hicks of North Port, Fla., and Madison, Tyler, Corey and Jonathon Zarnick; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Also surviving is her yard sale buddy, her sister Joanne Foreback, who traveled to many yard sales throughout the years together, faithfully every Friday and Saturday. She is also survived by her sister, Vera Hamil, of Cabot.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Bill; sisters, Jean Stalker and Sara Zarnick; and brother, Jack Ralston.
She will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving, generous, wise, kind and beautiful woman who brought joy to our lives.
