Melinda Kaufold, 61, of West Sunbury, passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026.

She was born in Butler on Aug. 17, 1964, daughter of the late Carl and Helen (Sandford) Brandon.

Melinda attended college and worked in culinary arts and caregiving. She loved all animals and enjoyed horseback riding, barrel racing and raising and showing silky fainting goats.

Melinda was the beloved wife of the late Merle “Butch” Kaufold; mother of Gibby Horlick; and sister of Melissa Young, Heidi Scheerbaum, and Rickey, Mickey, Gib and Roy Brandon.

Along with her parents, Melinda was preceded in death by her husband.

KAUFOLD — All services for Melinda Kaufold, who died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, will be held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
